18t HGV Skip Loader Driver | Immediate Start | Romford, Essex
Arthur Skip Ltd is a rapidly growing waste management & recycling company based in Romford, We are currently recruiting Class 1/Class 2 HGV Drivers with immediate start positions for Proficient & Reliable HGV Drivers to join our fast paced team in our Essex operating centre.

As a minimum, all candidates MUST possess the following:
An HGV Class 2 (Cat C) Driving Licence
A Driver Qualification Card (DQC)
A Digital Tachograph Card
A clean Driving Licence (6 points maximum) (No DD/DG/IN) (No Totters)
The right candidate has an excellent working knowledge of London's strategic route network and will be familiar with the general geography of the surrounding home counties, the successful applicant will ideally live close to our Romford operating centre and have excellent spoken and written English skills.
Arthur Skip Ltd run a range of different vehicles from 3.5tn vans to 44tn articulated HGV's. All vehicles are Euro VI, meet the DVS Standard, have 360 degree cameras, and are fitted with modern tracking systems.
The company offers a competitive annual salary from £30,000 to £33,000 depending on your level of experience and the ability to meet achievable compliance goals. (KPI's) All staff members are paid weekly and your salary may be reviewed after completing your three month probationary period.
The Requirements: The ideal candidate should...
Have excellent communication and customer facing skills with the ability to remain calm, polite & professional when working under pressure.
Be able to demonstrate a positive ‘can-do’ attitude and be highly adaptable by nature.
Have sound knowledge of EU Drivers' Hours Rules & Road Transport Working Time Regulations.
Be proficient in carrying out a "Pre-Drive Defect Inspection" when taking over a new vehicle.
Have the ability to focus and concentrate continuously throughout the working day.
Possess excellent driving skills and intuitive manoeuvrability/spacial awareness capabilities.
Be able to complete paperwork and/or digital input on mobile devices effectively.
Be able to respond & communicate positively to goals set by the Transport Planning Team.
Have a good working knowledge of how to operate Skip lorry vehicles.
Have previously attended a "Safe Urban Driving" DCPC. (advantageous not
essential)
Embrace skills training & new learning opportunities when offered.
Have no more than 6 penalty points on UK Driving Licence. (No DD/DG/IN | No Totters) Have had no "at fault" accidents within the last three years.

The Schedule: You will be expected to be available for...
A 10.5 hour shifts (Mon-Fri).
A 7 hour shift (Every other Saturday).
Overtime (if required).
Experience: You will have...
A minimum of 2 years driving experience. (required) A minimum of 1 year Skip lorry experience. (required) Working knowledge of the Waste & Recycling industry.
Arthur Skip Ltd work primarily in London, The Home Counties & The Midlands. We do not operate internationally nor do we expect our drivers to tramp out. Following a successful interview, all new staff members start on a 3 month probationary period. (which includes a 14 day trial)
