16+ Care Leavers Supported Accommodation Manager.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Vineyard Homes Limited works with looked after young adults aged 16-18 years old in order to support their journey to independence through our specialist supported accommodation units. At Vineyard Homes we believe that all young people have the potential to become successful adults. We are currently looking for a Youth Support Manager committed to providing an excellent level of support for our young people. You will be someone that is enthusiastic in your approach, assertive in difficult situations and have a solid background of engaging with hard to reach groups / young adults with complex needs. MAIN RESPONSIBILITES
- Ensure that the home is appropriately staffed at all times to ensure that children are protected from harm and provided with a safe and nurturing environment and manage all aspects relating to HR
- Provide supervision and training to staff, supporting them with their own personal development and embedding a culture within the service that challenges and rewards workers to contribute the highest standards of support to the home's service users
- Working with external agencies to ensure children remain protected and be the main point of contact for multi-disciplinary teams and other relevant stakeholders
- Oversee all new admissions and ensure that all new young people are provided with a thorough induction as per company Induction process.
- Attending LAC review meetings and any other meetings as directed by senior management.
- Formulate support plans with young people that meet their needs and for the direct day to day support and housing management tasks such as managing arrears, health and safety and maintenance issues for young people living at our units and support to move on to independent living.
- Ensure ‘Progress Reports’ are completed to a good standard, are thorough and reflect progress and that these are sent to relevant professionals and others, within agreed timescales
- Liaise with contractors where necessary to resolve any security, health & safety issues.

YOU MUST HAVE:
- A good understanding of key working looked after children / young adults
- Good knowledge and experience of dealing with challenging behaviour. Must be flexible to work out of hours / weekends as per business requirements.
- Ability to communicate on a number of levels (young people, professionals, staff)
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- At least 3 years of Management experience in a similar role
- Level 5 diploma in Management for Health and Social Care
- Managerial/supervisory experience
- At least NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young Peoples Workforce or a Diploma in Youth Work or equivalent
- Safeguarding training (at least Level 2) or complete this in Induction stage
- A current enhanced DBS certificate (a new DBS application will be processed for all successful applicants)
- A full driving licence and own transport is a must for this role.
SALARY:
£30000 - £32000 per year dependent on experience.
