3 Biomedical Scientists posts (Band 5/Band 5 Annex 21)

We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic and hardworking individuals, with an IBMS accredited Biomedical Science Degree and professional registration with the Health Care Professions Council or is in a position to register on employment.
For applicants applying for band 5 Annex 21, these candidates if successful, will be required to complete their IBMS Registration Portfolio/ IBMS Certificate of Competence following a schedule of provided in house training, within the agreed time scale prior to progression to Band 5. The salary for annex 21 candidates will be paid at Annex 21 of the A4C Terms & Conditions.
The applicants must have a flexible approach to work, as they will be required to rotate through all aspects of the service including Histology Laboratories, Immunohistochemistry Laboratories and Western General Hospital Laboratories.
Initially, the successful applicant will be based at Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh but will rotate to the Western General Hospital.
Rostered Public Holiday working may be required to support rostered band 6 staff.

*Please note this is a Trainee post, therefore Annex 21 applies*
For trainees covered by Annex 21 where the period of training lasts for between one and four years, pay will be as follows:
- up to 12 months prior to completion of training: 75 per cent of the pay band maximum of the fully qualified rate;
- more than one but less than two years prior to completion of training: 70 per cent of the pay band maximum of the qualified rate of the qualified;
- more than two but less than three years prior to completion of training: 65 per cent of the pay band maximum for the qualified rate.
- more than three years from completion of training: 60 per cent of the pay band maximum of the fully qualified rate.
