NHS Lothian Clinical Health Psychology Service is delighted to be offering a 0.6 wte permanent Band 7 Applied Psychologist/CAAP post in our HIV/Sexual Health service, based at the Chalmers Sexual Health Centre in Edinburgh.
Clinical Health Psychology is a Lothian-wide service, supporting patients to adjust to acute and chronic physical health conditions. We have over 25 staff working across 15 specialist services, including Pain Management, Weight Management, Psycho-Oncology and ME/CFS. We offer interventions in a range of intensities and modalities, including group and individual therapy, as well as consultancy, supervision and training.
The psychology service to the HIV/Sexual Health team provides a valuable and well-respected and supported service to patients accessing specialist treatment at Chalmers Sexual Health Centre. The service is part of a large, friendly Physical Health Psychology Service, which includes a skill-mix of Clinical Psychologists, Counselling Psychologists, Health Psychologists, CAAP’s and Assistant Psychologists. Individual clinical supervision will be provided by an experienced clinical health psychologist with expertise in this clinical speciality. There will also be other opportunities to participate in peer-group therapy specific supervision and wider team meetings. This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
