SEND Youth Support Worker - Torbay
TimePlan Education are seeking dedicated Youth Support Workers to work in SEN educational settings across Torbay. For mainstream and special schools that have a number of vacancies need Youth Support Workers that have experience in coaching, mentoring, and lending assistance in classroom settings. Ideal candidates must feel comfortable dealing with challenging behaviour from students with a range of additional SEN and be able to show a calm and engaging approach. Experience of working with children or young people in an education setting isn't essential, but a willingness to learn new coaching skills to improve behaviour and development is critical.
Role Responsibilities
- Supporting SEN students at all age ranges and attainment levels.
- Ability to engage and support pupils across activities and learning.
- Supporting in both group work and 1:1 support.
- Supervising, coaching and mentoring behaviour of pupils.

Role Requirements
- Experience of supporting children or young people with challenging behaviour and SEN
- Able to stay calm and de-escalate challenging behaviour.
- Valid DBS registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new DBS
- Available 3-5 days a week and able to commit to at least 1-6 months
