Location: Based within Bristol City Council Locality offices, but work carried out at different locations across the city.

Bristol Youth Offending Team (YOT) is a multi-agency team that aims to prevent offending, reduce re-offending, protect the public and safeguard the children and young people who are in contact with the YOT. Skilled, committed support workers who can build positive relationships with children and young people are essential to achieving these aims.

You will work alongside partner agencies to prevent children and young people from becoming involved in offending behaviour, including:

  • Providing support to children and young people and their families to address factors that put the child/young person at risk of involvement in offending behaviour
  • Enabling children and young people to access positive activities
  • Delivering targeted interventions with children and young people who have received an Out of Court Disposal, or who are involved in other prevention and diversion work
  • Supporting work in schools and other settings to prevent children and young people from becoming involved in youth street violence and conflict


This role is emotionally challenging and involves working with vulnerable children and young people, lone-working and home visits, and could take place within the Youth Offending Team or alongside partner agencies.

Knowledge or previous experience of working with diverse communities would be beneficial in this role.
