At The Prince's Trust, we’re passionate about supporting young people aged 11 to 30 to get into jobs, education and training. We have an exciting opportunity for somebody enthusiastic to join our oganisation as a Young Development Lead in the our brilliant Development Awards Team. This role involves working with young people to support them in breaking down financial barriers they may have to moving onto their next positive steps such as education, training or employment.


You will join one of our Employability Programmes in Glasgow Our Employability Programme improves Young People's employability and specific skills they need to help them succeed in the workplace, increasing their chances of obtaining a job offer! These tailored programmes support young people in removing barriers to achieving their goals.


What does a Youth Development Lead do?

As a Youth Development Lead (YDL), you will be at the heart of our Delivery Team. Every day is different as a YDL and there are always exciting projects for you to get involved in. Your day-to-day activities to make an impact will include:


  • Reporting any safeguarding concerns for young people on your caseload, including completing complex risk assessments, liaising with external agencies, and producing safeguarding reports.
  • Managing caseloads of young people and volunteers on our programmes to support Young People in removing barriers to employment.
  • Attracting, engaging and onboarding young people to the opportunity through social media, job centres, working with community groups, job fairs and local outreach events.
  • Ensuring high quality delivery of the Development Award offer through efficient time and workload management skills and collaborating effectively with colleagues.
