At The Prince's Trust, we’re passionate about supporting young people aged 11 to 30 to get into jobs, education and training. We've got an exciting opportunity for somebody enthusiastic about helping young people and with strong relationship-building skills, to join our team of Youth Development Leads in Newcastle supporting on our 12-week personal development programme for 16-25 year-olds, TEAM. You will be required to regularly travel across the North East to visit and support delivery, with the flexibility to work from home sometimes too.


You will join one of our Delivery Partnerships and Volunteering Programmes. Our Delivery Partnerships and Volunteering Programme supports partners and mentors that deliver personal development programmes. This includes evaluating their progress in supporting young people to fulfil their potential in education, extra qualifications and more!


What does a Youth Development Lead do?

As a Youth Development Lead (YDL), you will be at the heart of our Delivery Team. Every day is different as a YDL and there are always exciting projects for you to get involved in. Your day-to-day activities to make an impact will include:


  • Reporting any safeguarding concerns for young people on your caseload, including completing complex risk assessments, liaising with external agencies, and producing safeguarding reports.
  • Collaborating and developing quality relationships with a range of different delivery partners to facilitate excellent programmes for young people.
  • Evaluating the progress and impact that our delivery partners have on our young people.
  • Accurate record-keeping and database management.
