What does a Young Person Support Worker do?
Depaul UK is a national charity committed to preventing youth homelessness by delivering an assessment, support and move on service. We work with young people in our accommodation based services providing guidance and support to encourage them on their journeys to independence.
You will be a keyworker and have a caseload of clients delivering a range of one to one support to individuals helping them to develop their skills and aspirations. This is a rewarding role that focuses on achieving positive outcomes for individuals and their families.
You will need excellent communication and relationship-building skills and experience in conducting risk assessments and support planning is essential. Experience of working for a charity/young people would be advantageous.
About the Lambeth Accommodation Service:
We are staffing a new accommodation service in Lambeth which opens on the 1st June 2023. This is an exciting new venture and as a Support Worker you will be instrumental in helping set up the service, take on new refferrals and provide support and guidance to young people at risk of homelessness in Lambeth.
We are recruiting for a number of Support Workers on various rotas and working patterns including days and nights, for more information please email [email protected]. All roles are permanent and full time.
Responsibilities:
- You will ensure the safety and wellbeing of clients in the service at all times
- You will lead on risk and needs assessment and support planning for your key clients
- You will support all clients to participate in Education, Training, Employment and Volunteering opportunities
- You will ensure the health and safety of the environment for clients, staff, visitors and volunteers through regular checks
