AK Teaching are currently working in partnership with a Primary School in the West End of Newcastle, who are looking to recruit an experienced Year 6 Teacher. The successful candidate will have a valid Teaching Qualification and QTS.

The school is easily accessible by public transport and has a very friendly and welcoming team.

The role is full time, to start as soon as possible and will be on a temp to perm basis.

Role Responsibilities

• Work alongside colleagues to plan and prepare schoolwork in accordance with the curriculum.
• Plan effectively in the short – long term, prepare effective lessons to ensure coverage of the curriculum.
• Plan and prepare home work and other out of class work.
• Committed to sustaining excellent relationships across the school community.
• Can imaginatively adapt and deliver the curriculum to our children.
• Assess, record and report on the development and progress of learners.
• Inspire children to enjoy learning, be confident in their abilities and take pride in their achievements.
• Committed to developing a creative curriculum in line with guidelines to enthuse and motivate learners.
• Is confident covering PPA sessions.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Candidate Requirements

• An ability to build good working relationships with both pupils and adults
• Good organisational skills
• Flexibility and creativity
• Enjoy working with children
• Good literacy and numeracy skills
• Ability to manage groups of pupils and deal with challenging behaviour
• Patience and a sense of humour
• A Valid Teaching Qualification
• Experience working in schools or educational settings
• An ability to work confidently with children, with a professional approach
• A valid DBS (Can apply if needed – full support will be provided)
• Eligibility to work in the UK (Two references, including your current or most recent employer)

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Fixed term contract, Temporary contract

Salary: £100.00-£160.00 per day

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
