Position: Yard Operative
Department: Yard
Term of Employment: Permanent – Full Time.
Hours: 42.5 hrs. per week, Monday to Friday between the hours of 7.00am-5.00pm
Salary: £11.24 rising to £12.24 upon successful completion of 6 month probation period.

Job Role
A well organised and motivated individual working as a Yard Operative. Manual handling of cylinders/stock, yard work and dealing with members of the public. The role entails reporting to the Yard Manager to ensure high levels of efficient business operation.
Core responsibilities
· Cylinder painting and maintenance
· Assisting with the loading of company and customer vehicles
· Yard work including:
· Yard cleaning and maintaining high levels of safe working practices
· Cleaning and maintenance of company vehicles
· Reporting to and assisting the Yard Manager with reasonable requests
· Implementing the company's Health and Safety policy
· Outdoor working
Skills and Experience
· Ideally 2 years of general depot experience
· FLT License ( Counterbalance), or experience
· Some knowledge of Health and Safety procedures - training will be provided
· Manual handling experience
· Customer service experience
· Confident oral and written communication skills
· Discussing and resolving problems/mistakes
· Enthusiastic, pro-active and flexible. Willing to contribute and support others as part of a team effort
· Able to work to deadlines and prioritise own workload effectively
· Able to progress tasks using own initiative, seeking guidance and input from others where appropriate
