An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of Yard Assistant at Crown Point Depot, Norwich, on a permanent basis.
The Role
As a Yard Assistant, your responsibilities will include efficient working of all movements and shunting within Crown Point Depot and Yard through 24 hours, ensuring maximum coverage of service and meeting maintenance and cleaning requirements.
You will be responsible for undertaking shunting, yard, and multi-tasking activities.
Within this role, you will control and authorise movements within Crown Point Depot and undertake fuelling and CET duties as instructed.
In addition, you will have the responsibility for ensuring the yard is kept clean and tidy as part of a safety critical environment. Please be aware this roster does include night shift work.
What we are looking for
The successful colleague would have experience in a railway operating environment and be able to pass a railway shunting course. The ideal candidate should have the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
