x10 WAREHOUSE ASSISTANTS – WARRINGTON
£10.42 per hour (£20,319 per annum)
Contract: 2 year fixed-term contract
Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week, working 7.5 hours per day between hours 8am and 8pm; which could include some weekend working as agreed.

Cancer Research UK is opening our first ever 12,000 sq. ft. Regional Distribution Centre (RDC) in Warrington in May 2023. We’re looking for proactive Warehouse Assistants to work together to support our shops and stores, drivers, and our onsite ecommerce Marketplace team. You will ensure all work, processing and fulfilment is executed effectively and efficiently.
You will support circa. 80 shops and superstores with appropriate end of line and donated items by sorting textile and non textile inbound stock into specific categories and dispatching to shops and superstores as scheduled.
What will I be doing?
Manually sort, categorise, ticket and process donated and End of Line new stock to meet shops ongoing requirement
Assist in maintaining stock levels for supply and inform RDC Supervisor of stock availability.
Prepare customer orders for dispatch – this includes lifting and moving stock of different weight and sizes where appropriate
Picking, packing, and sorting sold items with the dispatch department
Working to daily dispatch targets
Dealing with the deliveries of stock from our retail drivers or 3rd parties into the RDC and dispatching stock from the RDC back to our retail drivers or 3rd parties
Maintain safe and effective standards of storage and stock movement in the processing area ensuring that housekeeping standards are maintained to a high level throughout the RDC
Minimise stock loss through accurate selection of stock for the appropriate shop where we will maximise the value of the item and monitoring of waste items
Monitoring levels of equipment and consumables for the warehouse process – boxes, hangers, labels, bag drop bags etc – inform RDC Supervisor to arrange replenishment.
Ensure minimum wastage and that correct procedures are followed and all relevant online or paper process is completed, for stock movement of any type.
Ensure all Health & Safety policies are adhered to.
Understand and ensure the correct stock categories, proposition and sales value are delivered
Ensure Gift Aid data is captured and processed correctly
What skills are we looking for?
Essential
A background within warehousing & logistics is desirable, preferably within a retail or a fast-paced commercial environment.
Marketplace ecommerce and warehouse knowledge would be desirable but not essential.
Proven knowledge of warehouse policies and procedures, including Health & Safety
Ability to work under pressure with accuracy
Ability to build collaborative and effective relationships with internal stakeholders
Proven ability to work on own initiative and assess priorities
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work well as part of a team
Able and willing to go above and beyond this position description to ensure success, with flexibility and willingness to perform other tasks as needed
