Job title: Library Assistant (2 posts)
Working Pattern: Part time, permanent position, 18 hours / week. Candidates should be available to work 10-6 on 2 weekdays (Mondays & Wednesdays or Wednesdays & Fridays) plus 9-5 on alternate Saturdays
Salary: Grade 2 £24,012 to £24,804 (pro rata for 18hrs)
Location: These roles will be based in the Central Library but will require staff to travel to any of Croydon’s Libraries
About the Role: As a Library Assistant you will be part of a team delivering Croydon’s library services directly to our customers. This will include delivering high quality customer service, supporting the delivery of activities and events and assisting customers with accessing online information and other resources. Promotion of all services to a wide range of customers is also a key part of the role.
You will need to be
- Customer focussed with excellent communication skills
- Interested in libraries and serving Croydon’s diverse communities

- Enthusiastic in your approach to engagement with customers of all ages
