We currently have a vacancy for a Programme Support Officer (Sustainability) to join our Business Sustainability team.

We are building a passionate and proactive business sustainability team, and we are looking for an outstanding Programme Support Officer to support delivery of the sustainable business support service.

You will play a key role in supporting the drive towards net zero and becoming climate ready, and will be responsible for maintaining programme information and processes.

The business sustainability team will be a catalyst for SME sustainability and resilience in our region – aiming to support local businesses with a fantastic, flexible package of advice and funding to plan towards net zero and climate readiness.
Whether working with an independent high street coffee shop, or a pioneering advanced manufacturing business, we will provide scalable support based upon the core principles of Measure – Plan – Act:

  • Helping businesses to measure their current position and environmental impacts
  • Supporting them to plan actions they can take to improve these
  • Providing a package of support to help them to act on these plans

The Role
Reporting into the Service Manager (Sustainability), the key responsibilities are but not limited to:

  • Be responsible for providing project and operational support to the Service Manager including support with the marketing strategy and project team, engaging with delivery partners and businesses supported through the project, and ensuring documentation is compliant with funding requirements.

  • Be responsible for maintaining programme information and processes, collating and administering claims under national and regional funding streams, and for monitoring and reporting in relation to the requirements of the Combined Authority and relevant funders.
About You
You will have the following key skills, attributes, education and experience:

  • You will be educated to degree level or suitably experienced in a similar role, preferably with a passion for supporting businesses with sustainability and clean growth.
  • You will have demonstrable experience of project management support and with have excellent attention to detail, ideally gained through working on projects with rigorous compliance and funding requirements.
