PROJECT OVERVIEW
This contract position will provide copywriting and editing support working with Division communicators across the enterprise and public affairs personnel to tell the Air Force Research Laboratory’s (AFRL) story.
JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Act as a journalist within the organization seeking out opportunities to interview personnel to generate articles and written content- Brainstorm creative methods to tell stories about the organizations people, technology, and facilities
- Recommend drafts and written content to appeal to the organization’s targeted audience
- Provide content development for a variety of platforms including printed articles, press releases, digital newsletters, websites, social media and marketing materials
- Monitor and remain current on news and information affecting the Air Force science and technology areas
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Active security clearance or ability to secure a clearance- Bachelor’s degree or five years of relevant writing and editing experience
- Experience interviewing people and writing engaging news stories
- Experience and ability to simplify complex information into understandable written content
- Experience editing and knowledge of Associated Press style
DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiar with government contractor environment and protocol
- Experience writing for science and technology
- Photography and photo editing skills a plus
