HICONSUMPTION is a scrappy, bootstrapped media brand obsessed with gear, and we are constantly scouring the deepest corners of the web to uncover the greatest gear known to mankind. From EDC essentials to electric bikes, from waterproof boots to whiskey, from architecture to automobiles - we’ve got it covered. Responsibilities
-Daily production of gear stories which includes snapshot articles, product reviews, features and in-depth buyer’s guides
-Scour the web on a daily basis for the best stuff for men to buy
-Pitching and writing engaging content that is designed to be digested and shared in a world consumed by social media
-Strategize with team on larger editorial pieces to help make HICONSUMPTION the best gear destination on the web
-Copy editing and fact checking
Qualifications
-Passion for well-designed, well-built gear - above all else
-Excellent grammar skills with a diverse vocabulary and proficient at spelling
-The ability to perform in-depth research on anything men’s gear related
-Strong interpersonal skills, comfortable receiving constructive criticism
-Loves working in a team environment
-Must meet deadlines and have strong prioritization & time management skills
-Experience multitasking and tracking several projects simultaneously
-Strong, creative eye for images that will tell the story and visually sell on social media
-Witty and quick to develop enticing article headlines
-Strong attention to detail
-Wordpress (or similar CMS) experience is a plus
-Bachelor’s Degree required
-Previous writing/editorial experience preferred
This is a full-time, salaried position in downtown Los Angeles. Salary is commensurate with experience.
