Newton Derby designs and manufactures excitation and generator solutions for numerous market sectors.
Newton Derby is growing rapidly and are providing an excellent opportunity for a Workshop Operative to join the team in Pudsey LS28.
Working hours: Start 0730hrs to 1615hrs Monday to Thursday & 0730hrs to 12 noon on Friday, 37.5 hours a week. These working hours are subjected to our flexi time policy.
** 3 months temporary contract, could go permanent to the right candidate**
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ensure excellent standard of housekeeping is maintained.
- Collaborate with team members to complete assigned tasks efficiently and effectively.
- Emptying of waste bins and disposal of contaminated waste.
- Paint preparation, packing & assembly of machines.
- Carry out reasonable ad-hoc duties requested by your direct Line Manager or the Management Team;
- Promote teamwork and co-operation at all times, both within individual depots and right across the entire Winder Power group;
- Safeguard all Company assets;
- Treat all other employees and all our customers professionally and with respect;
Qualifications/Skills required for the role:
- Previous experience with power tools and hand tools is preferred
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
- Overhead crane certification (Desired however, full training will be given)
- Folk truck licence (Desired however, full training will be given)
- Previous experience, especially in particular industry (preferred)
- Flexible to work late and weekends on short notice.
