Main Objective:
Reporting to the Technical Manager you will provide on-site technical solutions whilst ensuring that customers receive the highest quality support. This role owns all technical activities in HQ
Workshop including calibration management of all test equipment and activities related to any acceptance/repair of medical equipment.
Main Tasks:
- Maintaining accurate inventory records of test equipment, including location, calibration status, and maintenance history.
- Ensuring that all test equipment is functioning properly, coordinate with vendors for repairs as needed.
- Ensure test equipment is calibrated, planning to allow for the minimum down time to operations.
You will need to plan the process from collection to re-delivery.
- Liaising with both the acute and field team to advise when their test equipment calibration is due.
- Implementing procedures for the proper handling, maintenance, and storage of test equipment
- Collaborating with the technical manager/biomedical engineering team to troubleshoot and resolve issues with test equipment.
- Issue and control BIO numbers for new test equipment (to include IT and mobile phones) recording all details accurately on the database. Maintain the database and keep the inventory up to date with retirements, transfers, and newly purchased equipment. This includes test equipment, tools, phones, and IT equipment.
- Carry out acceptance testing, preventative maintenance, and repairs to a wide range of medical devices in the workshop.
- Ensure that service reports are completed in accordance with the Quality Management System and OEM protocols.
- Maintain effective quality systems to comply with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 13485:2016.
- Utilize the service database system of assets.
- Identify and develop improvements in processes and functions to ensure the Company delivers consistently high levels of service for the customer.
- Build an honest and strong working partnership with the customer support teams (Acute and
Community) to ensure that the contracts run smoothly.
- Ensure that all Company policies and procedures are fully always complied with.
- Ensure all the operational teams are aware of the procedure for calibrations including pricing, shipping, and returns.
- Manage receipt and dispatch into the workshop, liaise with the service desk regarding shipments to engineers.
- Take responsibility of the smooth running of the workshop, ensuring it is organized and orderly. Control the area to prevent random dumping of parts, equipment and rubbish.
- Support onboarding of new employees with test equipment and tools.
Key Skills:
- Ideally you will have a minimum of HNC/HND in Electronics/Micro- processors/Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Demonstrable experience within a similar role.
- Understanding and compliance with all regulatory requirements, including MHRA,
Health and Safety, and Quality.
- Demonstrate a good level of competency with IT systems for managing assets and reporting on work completed.
- Must demonstrate ongoing commitment to personal development.
- Must be able to work within a competitive team environment as well as provide a strong individual performance.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Salary band £23,000 - £29,000 (dependent on experience)
