Aquatic Engineering & Construction; part of Acteon Group, is a global leader in laying and retrieving flexible and semi rigid products from the seabed in support of the renewables, oil and gas and telecommunications markets. The company has proven ability in shallow / deep water, and extensive experience of off and onshore installations, transpooling, recovery and decommissioning.
Aquatic Engineering & Construction are currently recruiting an Electrical Technician to join the team in the Peterhead Workshop on a full time, permeant basis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, fault diagnosis, build, test, commission and Set to Work Aquatics fleet of Flexi Lay equipment and site electrical installation.
The role also involves working closely with the operations engineering team in the research, development and build of next generation equipment, including the leading of client witness testing.
This role may require occasional travel may be required to support operational requirements.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Responsible for electrical maintenance and preparation of Aquatic equipment to fulfil client needs
- Execute all tasks to full compliance in accordance with best practice, legislation, HSE policies and operations procedures
- Ensure equipment preparation and maintenance is carried out to the safety and highest safety standards
- Proactively engage in all toolbox talks, risk assessments, group discussions and drive technical and innovative thinking
- Record all works carried out on equipment fleet within Aquatic IMS system and CMMS system
- Support the development and implementation of lean six sigma practices
- Maintenance and preservation of equipment, PUWER assessments and engineering management of change processes
- New build and refurbishment of electrical control panels
- Ensure all electrical work and equipment preparation is carried out in accordance with guidance documents, latest drawings, test procedures, tensioner settings and project management plans
- Carry out spares checks on fleet of capital equipment
- Portable appliance testing, routine fire alarm and emergency lighting tests
- Impart knowledge to wider team to support upskilling
- Engage with operations engineers in the development of new operations and maintenance manuals, including drawings and procedures
- Fault diagnosis and rectification of all electrical faults
- Team working. Assist other trades with basic tasks if required
Requirements
- Time served electrician and/or electronics technician
- BS 7671 IET Wiring Regs
- COMPEX Ex 1,2 and 3 desirable
- Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's) (preferably Siemens) highly desirable
- First Aid Training (Electrical Shock) desirable
- Good communication skills
- Attention to detail
