Job purpose
In your new role as a Workplace Operative you will be responsible for undertaking tasks such as porterage requests, assistance in waste tasks, small office moves and light maintenance activities such as meter readings. activities We operate to the highest level of service for the client. You will be required to answer queries, report any defects and keep the team informed of site activities. You will be expected to complete all work-related documentation accurately and on time, keeping logs of inspections reports and any remedial work.
We are looking for individuals with:
- Experience within a Maintenance / Facilities Management environment.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety, Permit to Work procedures and Safe Systems of Working.
- Capability to perform manual tasks, including manual handling, working at heights and in confined spaces as well as a willingness to participate in the On-Call Rota.
- Good verbal and written communication is important, including the ability to use a mobile device.
- You'll need to be highly self motivated and solutions focussed with the ability to work without supervision but also enjoy working as part of a team.
- Full Driving Licence.
- Fork Lift Licence
Job Objectives
- Breaking down & flat packing carboard & wood boxes to maximise space efficiency within the skips
- Using a FLT as applicable. This tole will involve moving large and heavy items with a FLT.
- Receipt of porterage requests from the customer via Maximo request as required
- Maintenance of written records.
- Driving duties to transport equipment around site
- Always maintain good housekeeping standards
- Manage and implement local / site polices and compliance as directed by the Manager
- Ensure site compliance is upheld and in line with Client control standards
- Ensure equipment is collected from around the site and transferred in a professional and efficient manner
- Identify areas of improvement on site
- Carry out inspections on site and completion of site checklists /collation of Duty of Care notes.
- Be able to build strong relationships with, and support, other Mitie staff on site
- Be able to build relationships with sub-contractors coming to site also those organising visits
- Ensure all correct and in date paperwork is always in place.
