This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and driven Junior/Middleweight WordPress Developer looking for their next step in their career. This is a predominantly frontend development role where you will be responsible for building and updating high performing and engaging websites for a range of B2C and B2B clients across many industries including some household names. You’ll be expected to collaborate with fellow developers, designers and project managers in a fast paced digital agency environment.

Roles and responsibilities
- Building high performing, accessible and responsive WordPress websites across a range of industries
- Working closely with the rest of the development team, design team and project managers to deliver great looking websites
- Adding new features and updating existing websites
- Providing a great first level support experience
- Exploring new ideas and innovation projects
- Keeping abreast of industry trends
Essentials
- Ideally 1-2 years of relevant industry experience building custom WordPress themes
- Strong working knowledge of HTML, CSS (using a preprocessor) and JavaScript
- Experience customising themes using WordPress functions and ACF
- Understanding Git process and version control
- Strong team player and able to work closely with other developers
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Comfortable working directly with clients
- Great troubleshooting skills
- Experience supporting a range of client website requests
- Ability to manage time and meet project deadlines
- A portfolio of work showcasing abilities
Desired
We don’t expect you to tick off all the below, but any you can bring to the table will be advantageous:
- Experience in third party JavaScript frameworks e.g. React and jQuery
- Experience with PHP
- Experience in eCommerce and WooCommerce
- Good eye for detail and ability to follow wireframes and designs
- Good understanding of performance and accessibility best practices
- Good working technical SEO knowledge
- Terminal and SSH familiarity
- Familiarity with build tools and compilers
- Technical / sysadmin skillsBuilding custom plugins
- Familiarity with using AI to aid coding i.e. Copilot, ChatGPT
- Experience using industry-standard software e.g. Figma, IDEs such as VS Code
- Experience with different types of WordPress themes, site builders and approaches such as Headless

Salary
£25k - £33k dependent on experience.
