Your Role:
We’re looking for an experienced Administrator to join our team, to help bolster our team, mentor junior colleagues and broaden your skills as we take on new technologies. As well as BAU work, you’ll also have the opportunity to work on exciting transformational project work that comes our way, and 2023 is set to be a big year of transformation for us here at Wesleyan.
You’ll be accountable for performance, security, maintenance, integrity, and availability of the windows server estate. This role will interface with stakeholders across the business to ensure the windows infrastructure is both robust, fit-for-purpose and secure for business activity.
What you’ll be doing:
- Managing availability and performance of all Windows servers supporting production and pre-production environments within SLA
- Planning of upgrades
- Monitor and manage the security, integrity, and backups of all Windows servers
- Ensuring Windows servers are correctly aligned to associated hardware resources for optimum performance
- Be a Subject Matter Expert within the Windows server arena and associated disciplines.
- Understanding of best practice standards and their adoption.
- Strong problem-solving attributes to support \ solve complex inter-department data platform problems.
- Ability to support and mentor more junior team members
- Support Change and Projects in the delivery of new services and systems

We’re looking for:
- Previous experience in a comparable Windows System/Server Administration role
- Proven experience of managing complex faults
- Experience running Windows in a virtualised environment in VMware.
- Strong knowledge and proven experience in Windows SCCM packaging.
- Awareness of Cloud Services – preferably Azure Data Platform.
- Strong experience of: Microsoft infrastructure and Products; i.e. Windows security, Active Directory, Office 365, Microsoft System Centre and PowerShell scripting
The financials on offer:
- Annual salary of £40,000 - £48,000 per annum (dependent on experience), reviewed annually
- Annual Performance based Bonus
