Job description

Debenhams is looking for a Wholesale Buying Assistant. This hybrid role will aid you in learning all aspect of buying and selling. Working directly for Debenhams but liaising across all the brands in the Boohoo Group, the wholesale department sells the collections to our partners all around the globe. You will be responsible for coordinating with brands and partners to return orders and meet critical deadlines. Our Buying Assistant will also aid the Buyer with own brand development for lingerie, swimwear and sleepwear.

What you’ll be doing

WHOLESALE

  • Collaboratively shape partner catalogue with an awareness of brand bestsellers and seasonal trends
  • Responsible for ensuring all deadlines are met to share first insights & order confirmation sheets with partners.
  • Ensure Wash care tracker and supporting documents are completed according to critical path to prepare export documents.
  • Working collaboratively across the brand to delivery wholesale partner key KPI’s.
  • Keeping partner trackers & wholesale critical path documents up to date.
  • Understands department strategy, despatch targets and OTB plans with the support of Head of Wholesale and Account manager

OWNBUY

  • Raising department orders & managing amends
  • Managing critical path and OPO management to ensure department targets are achieved and deliveries on time.
  • Colour & Print approvals
  • Ownership of fit sessions and actioning fit comments direct to suppliers.
  • Negotiating cost prices to achieve best prices and meet department BIM.
  • Understanding open costings including fabric prices, consumption and fit amend implications.
  • Attending supplier meetings to develop and source new development as well as reviewing OPO and any production concerns.
  • Responsible for weekly OPO meetings alongside AM and MAA.
  • Management of sample development tracker and chasing in development to meet deadlines.
  • Understanding of the marketplace, target customer and key competitors.
  • Awareness of department KPI’s and department strategy.
  • Accountable for checking new in product daily to ensure all details of each product are correct online.
  • Understanding of the weekly trade pack with contribution to department best and worst.
  • Carries out weekly & Seasonal comp shops.
