We’re looking for a What’s On & Affiliates Writer to join our team at MyLondon, responsible for covering and building an audience on London’s world leading entertainment scene.
You will have a flair for writing, a nose for finding a good story and a natural ability to entertain readers with reviews. You’ll need to have sharp eyes across social media for any openings, big events or must-visit places and venues - and a good understanding of SEO.
This role equally exists to organise and distribute brilliant affiliates and consumer content to our readers. You will understand how and when to create eye-catching shopping content that will help people save money and make an informed buying choice. We have had huge success with fashion and beauty content in particular recently, so an interest or expertise in this area would be an advantage. However, a passion in other consumer areas such as tech would also be just as beneficial.
You will help achieve audience goals and boost our brands’ social reach, so you’ll be responsible for keeping up with restaurants, pubs, bars, markets, days out, walks and shopping across the city, as well as coming up with fresh, creative ideas for reviews, profiles, stories and Facebook live videos.
We’re looking for fresh ideas and new perspectives from people from a wide range of backgrounds, and we want you to tell us the stories you believe are important from our many communities so we can continue to diversify our content.

This role is home and hub based linked to our London Hub. We are therefore open to candidates based in and around London
What will the role involve?
You will source, create and publish informative, accurate and shareable What’s On content about restaurants, bars, eating, drinking, days out, shopping, walks, gigs, events, family fun and everything else, with great pictures, engaging videos and particular emphasis on money saving and deals content. Responsible for delivering high quality shopping, fashion and beauty articles that save readers money and generate revenue within an affiliates strategy.
You will engage our readers and develop interactive content formats which set us apart from our rivals. All while ensuring that every piece of content is researched and published in accordance with the Editor’s Code of practice. You will be confident using a range of digital formats and quickly identify breaking news by utilising social media.
Who are we looking for?
A journalist with your NCTJ or equivalent qualification and media law knowledge, you have the ability to be bold, confident and to be comfortable meeting people face to face, whilst able to communicate excellent reviews and deals, and develop a strong contacts book.
You have first rate editing, writing and subbing skills, relish the test of working under pressure and to tight deadlines. You’re social media savvy with current SEO knowledge and ideally you're familiar with newsroom analytics and content management systems. You’re flexible, inquisitive and are on the pulse of what makes a great story!
