WELDER/FABRICATOR

Weekend Shift – permanent
Shift pattern Fri, Sat, Sun (12 hour shifts) 36 hrs per week

What we are looking for:
Comfy Quilts Ltd are looking for a Machinist/Welding/Fabricating Engineer on a permanent basis covering our weekend shift working 3 x twelve hour shifts each Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. You will be time served and have a solid background using manual lathes & milling machines, also welding/fabrication. Experienced at repairing rollers and shaft. You will thrive from a challenge and genuinely enjoy working within an environment that supports and promotes improvements to both equipment and processes.
You will enjoy the process side of the job and as a result will have a solid knowledge of metalworking. You will enjoy working as part of a team and your superior metalworking knowledge will separate you from the competition.
Key responsibilities:
Building up worn shafts with weld, then turning down to size.- Manufacturing rollers and shafts, with keyways etc
- Welding / fabrication of within a manufacturing environment.
- Working as a team to deliver business requirements.
- Adhering to Health & Safety requirements to provide a safe working environment.
Knowledge and Experience:
A strong background in the use of manual lathes & Milling machines- fabrication and manufacturing of machines and components.
- Minimum 3 years welding experience, ideally a coded welder.
- Strong knowledge of metalworking techniques and fabrication.
- Use of fabrication and metalworking machinery including welding/grinding/sheet metal working.
- Able to read, understand and translate engineering drawings.
- Used to working to high quality standards.
- Coming from a FMCG or fast moving manufacturing environment.
- A flexible approach & enjoys working as part of a team.
- Understanding of Health & Safety best practices to ensure safety of self and others.
- Driving licence and own transport preferred.
