GENERAL SUMMARY
As an apprentice welding technician, you will be given the opportunity to work with highly skilled individuals and develop competencies across the welding and fabrication functions in the factory. During the programme you’ll develop the ability to work from engineering drawings and technical data to produce a huge variety of components used primarily in the power and energy industry. You’ll develop health & safety awareness throughout the programme and support the business as it drives towards a zero harm culture. The four-year program will combine an internal training program with NVQ & BTEC qualifications.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Work through a 4-year internal apprenticeship training program, which includes T.I.G, M.I.G & M.M.A welding, fabrication, fitting, testing, machining, quality inspection/assurance, industrial engineering & design.
- Attend day release college and complete all assignments & examinations to obtain relevant BTEC qualifications.
- Complete NVQ level 3 Mechanical manufacturing During the apprenticeship complete and present a variety of projects on engineering subjects related to your training.
Knowledge, Education, Skills and Abilities
- GCSE passes or equivalent in Maths, English and Science.
- A willingness to learn and to take on new / challenging responsibilities within the business.
- A commitment to completing a four-year Apprenticeship scheme and a desire for further education beyond the apprenticeship
