Job Purpose
To carry out welding/fabrication tasks to a high standard as required. The use of fabrication machinery such as press brake, guillotine and rollers are required.
Duties and Responsibilities
Fabrication of Mild steel and Stainless-steel components as required ensuring that the highest standards in finish and tolerances, in accordance with information supplied, are achieved using sound “trade” methods
Follow correct legislation for yourself and your work colleagues regarding Health and Safety
MIG / TIG welding in both Stainless Steel and Mild Steel
Position align and fit parts according to specifications
Grind, sand, polish and detail fabrications to required finish using hand and power tools to a high standard
Measure and examine completed work to verify conformance to specifications
Read engineering drawings and fabricate from them
Off-site work at client’s facilities within the UK and Worldwide
Operation of manual machine tools, as part of the fabrication process when required
Machines to be kept in a tidy and well-maintained manner, which would require maintenance be undertaken from time to time
Share industry knowledge/train apprentices
Ensure that the supply of consumables, i.e. gas, welding wire etc. does not run which could affect the job
Maintains tools, gauges and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe manner
Display flexibility to work in other departments and overtime as necessary to assist the company in meeting production goals
Liaise with design team and report drawing errors
Complete administration tasks as required
Report drawing errors
Any ad hoc duties

Must be able to communicate effectively at all levels
Preferred Requirements
A full UK driving license
Further relevant qualifications e.g., CSCS, CCNSG, First Aid
Competencies
Proven knowledge and experience of Industrial Fabrication
Industry exposure
MIG Weld mild steel and stainless steel to relevant and applicable standards
TIG Weld mild steel and stainless steel to relevant and applicable standards
Knowledge of metal finishing techniques
Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings, weld procedures and work instructions
Ability to recognise welding symbols and specifications
Demonstrated planning skills
Capable of training apprentices
Have the right to live and work permanently in United Kingdom
Be customer and results focused, have integrity, and be a proven team-player
Qualifications
Relevant Trade qualification – Welder/fabricator/Boilermaker etc.

Salary: £14.00-£14.33 per hour
