Working within a bustling atmosphere at the Rock Houses as part of a passionate team, you'll play a core part in providing fantastic customer service and giving a great visitor welcome.
Duration: Fixed Term contract until 5th November 2023
The Hours: Flexible hours to be discussed at interview with a variety of shift patterns available. The role will require weekend hours but again we would discuss your availability upon successful completion of your application.
What it's like to work here:You'll be based in our visitor reception, welcoming visitors to the restored Rock Houses. Reporting to the Welcome Manager, you'll be joining a friendly Welcome Team and working with a wonderful Volunteering Team. A typical day will include role modelling a great welcome, ensuring our visitors are informed about the site and events or programming, fundraising, and talking about supporting the National Trust.
You'll have the opportunity to get a deeper understanding of the history of the unique Rock Houses and to will be able to share this with our visitors.
You'll also be sharing with visitors details of the wider property; 650 acres of countryside including lowland heath, iron age hill fort and 2 further rock house settlements. A place that is a Site of Special Scientific Interest for both ecology and geology.
What you'll be doing:As the largest conservation charity in Europe we work hard to raise funds, so that we can continue to care for all the heritage in our trust. Visitors are a vital part of what we do, so you’ll be responsible for ensuring that you provide an excellent service to all our visitors, every day. As a Welcome & Service Assistant, it’s your role to ensure that the welcome our visitors receive is perfect, setting them up for an amazing experience for the rest of the day.
You’ll be responsible for answering queries and making sure visitors can find everything they need for their visit. Understanding how and why we engage our supporters is key. Working with our spirit of place you’ll work with the Visitor Welcome Team to link everything we do back to our cause and the on-going work we do.
You’ll deliver high standards of presentation at the property, and ensure all our communications with our visitors are clear and consistent, from the first click on the website, to the posters and signs around the property.
