We have an opening to support our Pharmaceutical client within the Irvine area, offering Laboratory support working within an integrated environment and with a well established team.
The opportunity would be fantastic for an undergraduate looking to gain vital experience in a laboratory environment whilst studying for their qualifications or an individual where working weekends would fit their lifestyle and has an appreciation of working in a regulated environment.

Hours: 10 hours per week

Location: GSK, Shewalton Road, Irvine, North Ayrshire, Scotland, KA11 5AP
The Weekend Lab Assistant's role is to provide services to support the laboratory functions at Irvine.
The role includes, but is not limited to:
- Preparation of laboratory mobile phase, eluent, reagents.
- Removal of laboratory waste
- Sample collection
- Glassware cleaning
- Equipment performance qualification checks
Key Accountabilities
- Ensure that tasks are completed according to the schedule and therefore have no negative impact on production.
- Accountable for adopting the ALCOA+ (attributable, legible, contemporaneous, original & accurate) principles.
- Maintaining 100% in MyLearning & Mitie Learning hub
- Ensure all laboratory solutions and samples are prepared or available daily.
- Ensure scheduled equipment calibration and functionality testing is completed in line with the plan.
- Flexibility to cover any activities that supports plant production
What we are looking for
- Educated from A level/Higher upwards in a science subject (preferably chemistry) or demostrable experience in a GxP environment
- Attention to detail & capability to work methodically to strict processes and procedures
- Ability to communicate effectively and foster good working relationships with a wide range of client, internal and external roles
- Confidence and communication skills to challenge behaviours and drive continuous improvement.
- Can perform under pressure and independent of supervision
- Position requires individual to be mobile (moving to/from various laboratories) and some physical lifting will be necessary
