Job Summary
This position requires a friendly, imaginative and professional cook with experience of working within a residential setting and with service users recovering from drug and/or alcohol misuse.
The post holder will be expected to take care of the kitchen and be responsible for food safety in accordance with local and national guidance.
Good communication skills is required and the ability to work with a multidisciplinary team of staff members. The post holder will be required to undergo mandatory training and to attend meetings as required.
The Passmores House service is a 23 bedded residential detoxification and rehabilitation unit. The applicant will be required to work within a Multi-Disciplinary Team structure, comprising of nurses, doctors, psychologist, complementary therapists, counsellors, recovery workers and volunteers. The unit has developed a health education programme based on relapse prevention. We offer regular supervision and annual appraisal. Personal and professional development is positively encouraged and courses are available for further learning and education links exist with a local university.
