This is an exciting time to join Royal Mail as we’re in the process of transforming towards a parcel led business. At the heart of this will be our National Distribution operation who move our parcels across a vast network throughout the UK. As a Transport Office Manager, you’ll facilitate the effective running of our transport office at Belfast VOC


What does the role involve?
Reporting to the Distribution Manager, as a Transport Office Manager you will lead and inspire a front-line team of cxxx drivers of large goods vehicles (7.5tn and above). You’ll professionalise distribution, ensuring operational work plans are achieved and that our pipeline optimises the flow of parcels and mail, while maintaining compliance with business policies, national work plan and Standard Operating Procedures.


You will deliver results and a better service to our customers through your team by demonstrating trust in all colleagues. Using your excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills, you’ll build effective relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally. You will achieve this working closely alongside our trade union representatives, by working together and delivering a great service every day, we can provide a first-class customer experience.

Shift patterns:

Part time role - 16 hours per week - Saturday 12:00-20:00 and Sunday 08:00-16:00.

Assessment process
Your face to face assessment is designed to enable you to showcase your suitability for management positions within Royal Mail. You will take part in a capability-based interview and a short management scenario exercise more details of which will be provided on the day.
