Wedding Porter Job Description:
UNV is specifically recruiting for a porter team! This is an exciting opportunity to join an independent business which has incredible venues currently across Norfolk. A Porter is a pivotal role to the success and smooth running of a wedding day. You will be assisting all departments with the operational, logistical and safety elements. You will support the wedding team and act as the point of contact in case of an emergency. Ultimately, you’ll ensure our venues are safe, clean and inviting.
Duties to include:
Greeting guests in a friendly and professional manner
Showing guests to their bedrooms and carrying their luggage
Ensuring the safety of guests
Assisting with emergency situations such as first aid and fire procedures
Patrol the site for security checks
Setting up rooms and moving furniture around the site
Cleaning and tidying public areas
Completing and filing incident reports
Follow the venue policies, procedures and service standards
Fix minor technical issues, like changing bulbs
Report damages, call maintenance manager and monitor repairs
Responsible for checking all appliances onsite for example; outside heaters, PA systems, air conditioning etc
Requirements and Skills
Previous work experience in a customer facing role
Good physical condition, stamina and strength (e.g., to lift heavy equipment and luggage etc)
Solid verbal communication skills to interact with guests and colleagues
To be flexible with working hours which will include weekends and late-nights
To hold a basic First Aid training certificate (not essential, training will be provided)
To hold a full UK driving licence and have access to own vehicle
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary contract, Fixed term contract, Temp to perm, Zero hours contract
Salary: £12.00 per hour
