JOB TITLE: Wedding & Events Coordinator

About the company:
Kingfisher Hotel, Golf and Country Club is nestled in 160 acres of countryside, near Deanshanger village, just 15 minute drive from Central Milton Keynes. The site was founded in the 1980s and has recently undergone a £2 million refurbishment.
About the role:
We are looking for a part time Wedding & Events Coordinator to join our team to support and develop the conference and events business, including weddings. Reporting to the Sales Manager, this role is very hands' on and will be fully responsible for the sale and planning of events to a high standard. You must be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines and offer a very high level of customer service.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Receiving, handling and converting meetings, event and weddings enquiries.
Being the point of contact for the organiser on the day and assist with the running of the event.
Arranging and carrying out show rounds.
Negotiate space, dates and rates.
Ensuring the complete administration and execution of all planned events.
Prepare company contracts for the hotel in accordance with current business and pricing conditions.
Preparing detailed function sheets and accurate invoices.
Encouraging repeat business through excellent customer service and enquiry handling.
Build strong relationships with customers to fully understand their needs.
Ensuring all enquiries are recorded accurately in PMS and that customer details are up to date.
Producing accurate and timely reports that meet the needs of the Sales Manager.
Assisting in the preparing and monitoring of sales, department and budgetary reports as and when required
Drive sales revenues and promote hotel services and facilities for up-selling opportunities.
Obtain full knowledge of competitors products to understand the market place.
Heavy liaison and communication between department heads, kitchen, sales and operational teams to ensure all client requirements are fulfilled.
Attend Wedding Fayres and other events for promotion.
Other duties and tasks assigned by the management within the job scope.
The successful candidates should have proven track record in hospitality sales, administration of meetings and events, have operational experience in the running of events and weddings, be friendly, professional, and adopt a positive attitude. Minimum 2 years experience as a Conference & Events Coordinator with direct banquet, wedding and event sales. Please do not apply if you do not meet the minimum criteria.
Proficient in using PMS and MS office software applications (Guestline)
Due to our location, you will need your own transport. Public transport is not an option. Please do not apply if you do not have a current driving license with use of a vehicle.
