Salary: up to £45,000 depending on experience | Hybrid Working
We are seeking an enthusiastic Web Developer to join our multi-location team based in the UK and overseas. You will be working on customer-facing web applications and associated backend systems. You will have at least 2 years commercial experience of implementing responsive websites using modern JavaScript frameworks/libraries and backend APIs.
As a member of our Agile, Full Stack development team, you will be initially focused on frontend UI applications and have the opportunity to extend your experience and skillset across our full technology stack. You will also be expected to assist us in supporting a number of legacy applications as we migrate them to newer technologies.
You will be willing to contribute to and be part of a dynamic and friendly team who provide their colleagues with support and assistance across a variety of projects and application types. In addition, you will have the opportunity to work with business stakeholders in our web experience and marketing departments as part of a wider digital transformation strategy.

Key requirements
Technology
- Minimum commercial experience 2-3 years on customer facing web applications.
- Commercial experience implementing web applications with Mobile-First Responsive UI.
- Commercial experience implementing React JS or similar frontend technologies.
- Commercial experience implementing CSS frameworks (E.g.- Bootstrap v4/v5, LESS, SASS).
- Experience of integrating frontend UI with C# Web API / Web Services using JSON data.
- Experience of Relational Databases, queries, views, and stored procedures. (E.g.- MS SQL Server).
- Experience of writing unit test cases for frontend technologies.
- Knowledge of version control systems like TFS, Git and continuous integration systems.
Standards and Practices
- Appreciation of best practice coding techniques and standards (E.g.- SOLID principles, DRY, Design Patterns).
- Familiarity with defensive coding practices and application security.
- Knowledge of Agile software development processes.
General Skills
- Good aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication (written and verbal) and team working skills.
- Able to communicate effectively using MS Teams or similar.
- Qualified to degree level in Software Engineering, Maths, Engineering or similar discipline.
Desirable requirements
- Awareness of Static Site Generation techniques and technologies. (E.g.- Gatsby, Next JS).
- Experience using ASP.NET, MVC.
- Experience using XML.
- Knowledge of Azure services.
- Experience with Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager.
- Experience of writing unit test cases for backend technologies.
- Experience working with stakeholders to determine requirements.
