Position Title: Senior Web Developer – (Full Stack)
Reports To: S&R Development Manager
Department: IT, Savings & Retirement
Term: Permanent, Full-Time
Work Arrangements: 100% remote working is available for candidates across Canada outside of Waterloo Region and surrounding areas in Ontario. If local - will be moving to a hybrid model when our office renovation is complete (approximately November 2023), coming into the office 25% of the time (4-5 days a month).

What you will be doing:
- Lead a team of developers to design and program high-performance, scalable web applications and database solutions
- Recommend and implement system designs based on long-term IT organization strategy
- Create and support mobile and web applications using React, .NET, and JavaScript
- In an Agile set up you will work closely with product owners and platform gurus to develop alternative solutions to meet business needs
- Analyze production system problems and recommend workable solutions
- Investigate and solve production problems with minimal to no guidance
- Research and recommend technologies to the team and management to help keep our tech stack up to date
- Mentor junior and intermediate team members in good coding practices and modern technologies
- Degree or diploma in Computer Science or a related field
- Minimum 5 years experience with React
- Prominent level of proficiency in .NET/C# with more than 5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with JavaScript and jQuery.
- Experience in Mobile web development and Azure portal
- Significant knowledge in HTML5 CSS, Ajax
- Experience with SOAP and/or RESTful services
- Experience with JSON and XML
- Experience with Microservices architecture
- Experience with Microsoft IIS
- Hands on experience using testing frameworks for both client and server code (i.e. NUnit, Jasmine, etc.)
- Hands on experience in Azure Cloud and devops, developing and deploying CI/CD release pipeline
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and Transact SQL with at least 5 years of relevant experience
- Experience with ORMs like Entity Framework is an asset
- Experience with package managers (e.g., npm, bower) an asset
- Experience with CMS platform like Kentico and Umbraco is an asset
- Experience leading other developers on projects; task and priority setting, working with business partners, etc.
