Job description
Arbuthnot Latham is an independent Private Bank offering comprehensive Banking, Wealth Management and Investment Management services. Following an introduction to the bank and the investment management division, the intern will gain a broad education and experience in portfolio management including portfolio construction and analysis, asset allocation, performance analysis and investment research.
The internship programme will last eight weeks and be divided into two ections. The intern will report into the Research & Portfolio Analytics Manager within the front office of the Investment Management division where he will support him and the Investment Risk Analyst in the day-to-day function of the desk whilst following the structure set out below.
The first four weeks will focus on building the intern’s knowledge of Arbuthnot Latham’s services, the basic tenets of portfolio management and analysis and participation in the division’s quarterly investment committee meetings. This training will be accompanied by one mini-project for each week of on-the-job learning.
The second four weeks will put into daily practice the information learnt from section one as the intern becomes involved in live research projects, fund manager and investment service meetings and presentation preparations. During this period the intern will prepare two longer projects for presentation at the culmination of the programme upon which they will be assessed.Knowledge & Experience
- Candidates should be in their penultimate year of study in an undergraduate degree at a top-tier university.
- Candidates must be able to show a proven interest in finance and portfolio management.
- Candidates from all academic disciplines will be considered.
- No prior practical experience is required.
