About the role


We’ve an exciting new opportunity for Water Supply Team Manager’s to join our team in the Water Directorate, reporting into our Suffolk South Water Supply Manager.


You’ll lead your team to deliver top quality and cost-efficient water supplies, to meet our customers needs through the application of robust safety management processes, continuous quality improvement and coordination with service providers such as water quality, service planning, asset investment and maintenance teams.


We’re looking for you to be accountable for the operation of a mobile workforce operating across a wide geographic area, ensuring sufficient water is abstracted, treated, and processed in line with our regulatory requirements across all water treatment sites at the right cost.


You’ll be responsible for managing teams and resources to ensure all planned and reactive work is covered to help you support the overall performance of the sites and that it is understood and monitored, with performance measured and addressed appropriately through continuous improvement and escalated where the solution is outside of your control.


We’re looking for you to develop and maintain strong relationships with our capital project teams to ensure effective delivery of agreed solutions, in your role as asset user. You’ll also be responsible for the planning and coordinating of activities with both internal and external service providers such as Operational Contractors, Maintenance teams and Asset Investment to ensure work is delivered on time and to budget with the necessary written coordination planning documents and permitting in place.


You’ll be ensuring performance and continuous improvement information and reports are used to inform performance of the whole water supply team, along with implementing agreed policies that provide a consistent framework approach across all operating areas in Northumbrian, Essex and Suffolk operating areas.

About you


We’re looking for you to have plenty of the “can do attitude”, be resilient, organised and a great communicator with colleagues and stakeholders alike. Someone who can bring their own style to the role and isn’t afraid to get stuck into the challenges that operational line management brings. Previous people management with a technical aptitude is desirable, although the nature of the role will support development across those disciplines.
