The role will involve the flushing of hot and cold water outlets and taking water samples for legionella in all areas of the Trust and as such includes a considerable amount of walking . Candidates must be able to work as part of a team as well as independently and be able to communicate effectively with colleagues throughout the Trust. Main duties of the job Tasks include:- Taking samples from hot and cold water outlets throughout the Trust as directed by legislation and management. Completion of job tickets and report sheets. Communicating with colleagues throughout the Trust regarding work to be carried out. Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria Numerate and Literate Good general education Desirable criteria Mechanical NVQ 2 Experience Essential criteria Basic knowledge of hot and cold water systems and associated equipment Relevant experience of working in a maintenance environment. Desirable criteria Worked in a hospital or ward environment. Knowledge Essential criteria Be familiar with hot and cold water systems and appliance Be aware and have an understanding of safe systems of work and current legislation. Desirable criteria Aware of working within safe systems of work and current legislation. Knowledge of HTM’s Skills Essential criteria Be able to follow time table of work. Must be able to communicate to patients, managers and staff in a clear concise manner. Use radio devices and be computer literate with basic knowledge of Microsoft word & excel.
