Working hours: 06:00-18:00 day shifts plus 15 minute pre start handover, following a continental day shift pattern (3 on 2 off, 2 on 3 off)
As the Waste Water Treatment Plant Technician you will provide maintenance and engineering service support for the site Waste Water treatment facilities and systems including contractor control. You will contribute towards ensuring compliance with planned statutory and maintenance activities as well as accountable for the management of the site waste streams via a 3rd party partner (Sugarich). You will drive improved performance for cost, service & quality for the above.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring that the Waste Water Plant and associated ancillary equipment are functional at all times to deliver the required level of trade effluent
- Maintaining a quality supply of both recycle and permeate water back to the site
- Provide strong maintenance support in area to improve safety, people, cost and service
- Drive improvements in performance and cost reduction through identification and implementation of best practice techniques and application of root cause analysis to develop long term solutions to chronic downtime issues
- Drive improvements through carrying out daily health checks and periodic condition monitoring on critical processing equipment
- Using strong technical expertise to prioritise multiple tasks using own initiatives to sustain high reliability of all equipment and systems
- Deliver best practice contractor management and permit to work whilst ensuring contractors provide a service that is quality driven and value for money
- Provide support to technician group to develop WWTP functional understanding and skills
- Provide support during operation meetings, giving/receiving feedback on work streams, prioritizing and managing expectations
- Identify, source and ensure availability of maintenance spares and contracted activities
Qualifications
- Engineering background essential
- Strong mechanical and maintenance support experience
- Ability to prioritise work load based on impact to site
- Demonstrate a genuine appetite to lead activities to improve asset reliability
- Good communication and decision making skills
- Demonstrates strong analytical and problem solving abilities
- Computer literacy essential (EXCEL, SAP, WORD)
- NVQ Level 2 or above in an engineering discipline would be desirable
