Due to the teams expansion LCC are delighted to announce we have an exciting opportunity for a Waste Delivery Project Assistant to join our Waste Services team on a full time permanent basis.
Waste Services is responsible for the disposal of municipal waste in the county. This includes the operational responsibilities for waste infrastructure which includes Waste Transfer Stations and Household Waste Recycling Centres. The role of Waste Delivery Project Assistant will be responsible for supporting construction projects relating to waste infrastructure across the County.
About the role
The role is varied, and includes assisting and supporting in the development and management of the Infrastructure Asset Management Plan for LCC's Waste facilities alongside the effective delivery of waste infrastructure projects. This post works with colleagues across Waste Services to understand requirements and consider options, ensuring maintenance plans are safe and compliant with Health and Safety regulations and Environment Agency permitting requirements, delivering the change required.
About you
The ideal candidate should be a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers or equivalent, with a proven track record in supporting project delivery.
This is a great opportunity for those with a background in waste, environmental services or projects to join a growing team supporting the effective delivery of Waste projects for Lincolnshire.
What we're looking for:
- Experience of undertaking safety and condition inspections
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to publish and maintain standing advice for external consultants
- Knowledge of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 through making Planning Applications
- Evidence of producing designs and solutions to engineering issues on waste facilities
You will need to be an effective communicator, able to engage and work with a broad range of stakeholders, with an understanding of the nuances of working in a political environment.
About the team
You will work alongside 2 Waste Delivery Project Officers responsible for project delivery in Waste Services together with 1 other Waste Delivery Project Assistant and will be led by the Waste Operations and Infrastructure Manager.
The role offers the flexibility of hybrid working, which includes home and office working, with travel across the County, this role requires you to be mobile throughout an operational area and therefore a valid driving licence and use of a suitable vehicle is required. Mileage will be paid.
