Med-Lab is a successful distribution business based in Derby and has been trading since 1954. We are part of the Aerovac Composites One group of companies. Med-Lab’s Overhaul Material department supplies consumable materials primarily for the maintenance, overhaul and repair of aero engines, including Rolls-Royce. Our Petrochemical department supplies and supports a range of instruments used for testing petroleum products including aviation kerosene, diesel and various heavy fuels and oils. www.med-lab.co.ukhttps://www.compositesone.com/
Due to our growing demand and the ongoing market recovery we are looking for someone to join our company as a Warehouse Operative.
Main Responsibilities:
· Maintain the highest standard of professional, ethical and safe behaviour
· Maintaining a high standard of health and safety throughout the warehouse, to include security, general housekeeping and SAFE observations
· To ensure all material receipts are completed in an acceptable and timely manner in accordance to the Good Receipt procedure
· To locate all incoming goods into the correct location, identified and located within the warehouse management system, ensuring that correct labelling has been applied in accordance with the Goods Receipt procedure.
· To accurately pick and pack materials as detailed in the packing specification in a timely manner
· To ensure that all shipments, both internal and external are accompanied by the correct documentation, are packaged correctly and are transported by the designated carrier
· To be able to generate all required paperwork including pack lists, invoices, export docs and packing notes as required
· To provide cover for colleagues and to participate in any safety or business development seminars as designated by the Warehouse Manager
· Participate in continuous improvement and company culture initiatives
· To carry out general stock administration
Undertake other duties as and when require by the leadership team on site.
Education:
minimum of 3 GCSEs. Good verbal and written communication and numeracy level
Experience:
· Minimum of 2 years warehouse experience
· Counterbalance FLT Licence
Specific skills
· Methodical, with a good attention to detail- IT skills required
· Ability to communicate effectively and develop good working relationships with colleagues and other departments/ business locations
· Ability to work under pressure, be self-motivated and able to work proactively and independently.
· Knowledge of quality systems and procedures preferred (in a warehouse environment)
· Working knowledge of working with hazardous goods preferred
