Role overview:
Reporting to the Warehouse Manager the Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for the organization and management of the day to day running of one shift within the warehouse working in a JIT environment in the automotive industry. The Warehouse Supervisor will be required to achieve this with zero disruption to the customers build plan and zero emergency transport.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide weekly reporting information highlighting HSE Metrics, Absence, Downtime, Inventory accuracy, Reject Material costs etc.
- Work cooperatively with all departments, helping to expedite problem resolution.
- Work on plans to meet future growth needs; hiring and training the right people for the right positions to meet those needs.
- Additional responsibilities include managing and leading teams, coaching and mentoring to ensure performance objectives are met, building positive employee relations.
- Implementing, enforcing, and developing processes for management of inventory and material flow.
- Analyze and root cause any stock discrepancies and prevent future stock issues.
- Demonstrate leadership in building a culture of Continuous Improvement for process and operation.
- Take proactive steps to ensure that best practices are shared across all shifts and departments.
- Own and promote excellent housekeeping.
- Set clear requirements and expectations for the Group Leaders.
- Provide direction for direct and indirect reports, helping them achieve their personal and professional goals.
Key skills and Qualifications:
- Able to hit the ground running - a confident, self-starter with the ability to manage, prioritise and delegate tasks appropriately.
- Highly effective supervisory skills and techniques
- Knowledge of warehouse software packages and MS Office proficiency
- Ability to input, retrieve and analyse data
- Experience in a similar role within the automotive industry will be a plus.
- Experience of a JIT environment or complex manufacturing assembly processes is desired
- Availability to work rotatory shifts
- Experience in a Supervisory role
- Management, leadership and people development experience
