Job description
The Picking Supervisor will manage the efficient running of the picking team in a busy wareshouse despatching FMCG product to multiple retailers and end users.
Key responsibilitites:
Ensure that the replenishment team are aware of your stock issues in a timely manner to ensure the effective management of workflow.
- Provide training to members of your team ensuring continuous development.
- Ensure compliance with the company’s Health & Safety policy and procedures are upheld.
- Liaise with despatch Manager to ensure that orders are managed through despatch correctly.
- Offer suggestions for solving problems, improving efficiency.
- Ensure that housekeeping standards are upheld.
- Raise any operational issues with your line manager to ensure that the department operates effectively to the KPI’s.
- Ensure daily briefings are carried out.
- Any issues are escalated in a timely manner to your line manager.
- Allocate work to pickers on a daily basis to ensure effective completion of picking during the day.
- Ensure orders are correct in quantity and spec and review performance with the staff.
- Ensure that any performance issues with staff are dealt with through the correct channels with your line manager.
- Assist in warehouse stock counts and bulk audit checks.
- Support anywhere when requested within your abilities.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Successful track record in a similar role within an FMCG related environment
- Have a working understanding of health and safety best practice and legislation.
- Excellent organisational and planning ability
- Strong IT skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to liaise with cross functional staff at all levels
- A proactive, positive and team orientated mindset
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £21,000.00-£23,000.00 per year
