All of our UK fabrics are designed and woven at our own Lancashire weaving mill, John Spencer Textiles, now run by the sixth generation of the same family for over 150 years. The sister-companies both operate from our Head Office and Mill in Burnley, Lancashire.
We have a vacancy for a Warehouse Picker/Packer to work primarily in our Ian Mankin cut roll department, duties which include the following:
- Select appropriate fabrics rolls to best utilise customer orders using database
- Pick rolls from warehouse in a timely manner to ensure a good flow of rolls available for orders to be cut
- Carefully wrap customer orders and provide weight and dimensions where applicable to Sales Admin to enable booking of couriers
- Prepare & despatch daily shipments by courier
- Return rolls to warehouse in a timely manner to preserve quality and condition of rolls
- Keep the working and warehouse area clean and tidy, including an end-of-day routine
- Pack & Pick for despatch any Ian Mankin products such as pattern books, wallpaper etc
- Support other Ian Mankin and John Spencer Textiles inspection and warehouse duties as required to cover peaks/troughs in demand, holiday cover etc
- Support sewing department with cutting & packing as required to cover peaks/troughs in demand, holiday cover etc
Our standard shift pattern is Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5pm (4pm finish on Fridays). However you may be required to be flexible to cover absence, holidays, etc.
We offer a good salary depending on experience, pension and profit-sharing scheme, as well as 33 days holidays (inc. 8 statutory days) which are a mix of fixed and flexible days.
