Warehouse Operative Position
We are currently seeking a Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic team at our facility located just 20 minutes from Slough. We offer the convenience of free transport for our employees, ensuring a stress-free commute.
This is an ongoing position with Monday to Friday shifts from 08:00 to 17:30, with occasional work on Saturdays.
We offer a pay rate starting at £10.42 per hour, with the potential to increase to £11.00 after three months.
As a Warehouse Operative, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of materials, goods, and products to support our business operations and meet customer demand. Working in a high-performance culture, you will collaborate with a dedicated team to achieve common objectives and maintain a sense of urgency to meet timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take delivery of goods and supplies, verifying their condition and completeness.
- Store goods appropriately, ensuring proper organization and accessibility.
- Pick and pack orders accurately for dispatch.
- Move stock manually, using lifting equipment or a forklift truck.
- Load goods for dispatch, ensuring proper handling and secure packaging.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials to production lines, adhering to production standards.
- Input stock and inventory data into our computerized system, maintaining accurate records.
- Conduct daily stock counts and keep all paperwork up to date.
- Adhere to manual handling procedures when lifting and maneuvering products.
- Operate in compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements, prioritizing personal and team safety.
- Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in work areas to maximize operational efficiency.
- Provide recommendations to enhance efficiency and add value.
Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
- Previous experience in a Warehouse/Logistics business is essential.
- Strong numerical and literacy skills.
- Ability to independently problem-solve and use initiative.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Capacity to follow instructions accurately.
- Demonstrates a proactive and "can do" approach to tasks.
- Thrives under pressure and can work within tight deadlines.
- Strong team player, able to collaborate effectively.
