Procter & Gamble (P&G) is one of the world’s leading companies in the manufacture of Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) making globally admired brands such as Gillette, Pampers, Fairy and Oral-B. This is an opportunity to be part of a robust and hard-working team delivering the base operational and customisation business at Skelmersdale Distribution Centre. The role available is on a weekly rotating shift pattern (6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm).
You will be responsible for coordinating all outbound shipments from the DC by ensuring that all staging/loading activities are completed on time. This will involve managing the release of stock, the assignment of trailers, and supporting the loaders to guarantee that the priority work is completed first. The control leader is also responsible for updating any appropriate systems records after each shipment and ensuring that key paperwork is completed on time for medicines/export loads.
Throughout, you will be responsible for ensuring that work in the shipping area is executed safely, with good efficiency and with a constant eye for outages versus the normal standards in terms of quality and stewardship. You will work with your team leader to develop the breadth of your skills to the more complex areas of our business, and act as the back-up shift leader when they are absent.

Job Qualifications
What we look for:
Fork lift truck driving qualification and experience – proven ability to operate safely and with efficiency across reach, counterbalance, and clamp trucks.
Strong personal accountability & leadership to work as part of a team to execute operational work and highlight any risks to service that arise.
Experience working with warehouse management systems or aptitude to learn these systems.
Good Capability with MS Excel, MS Teams, and Outlook and the ability to communicate / share information effectively using these platforms.
The ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously with clarity and calmness when under pressure. You’re able to pre-emptively identify barriers to success, involve the right parties and lead the actions to resolve.
