Warehouse Operative/Picker Stroud, England
Job description
We are currently seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our company as Warehouse Operatives. You will be working within the existing Warehouse team throughout 4 warehouses to ensure the accurate picking, palletising, despatch, and storage of products within those warehouses. You will be required to build up and set up sample products in the showroom and assist with preparing external show stock ready for display and setting up onsite outlet sales throughout the year. There may be at times the opportunity to go out as a driver’s mate delivering a white glove service direct to customers.
Full time 40 hours per week with 30min lunch break per day. General working day during low season 8am to 4.30pm. During high season split warehouse shifts 1st, 06.00 till 14.30 and 2nd, 09.30 till 18.00. This shift rotates every week. There will be some overtime work and weekend work as and when required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Full induction and training will be given.
· Use a handheld scanner to accurately pick products for orders, transfer of stock and stock counting.
· Pick van and lorry orders safely, securely placing onto pallets ready for loading and dispatch.
· Pick, pack, and label orders ready for 3rdparty courier collection.
· Loading and unloading vans, box lorries and curtain side trailers.
· Unload containers, loading the products onto pallets, ensuring they are securely shrink wrapped ready for safe storage in the warehouse racking.
· Manual handling and heavy lifting are part of this role (full H&S training will be given) you will be on your feet for long periods during the working day.
Ideal Candidate:
· To have either a forklift truck licence for Counterbalance and/or Reach Truck up to 6mtr. Conversion training and periodic training will be given.
· To be familiar with using handheld scanners while picking (in house training will be given).
· To be flexible with shift start and finish times including some overtime and weekend work.
· To have clear communication skills.
· A good team worker.
