The opportunity:
The role of the Warehouse Operative provides a varied workday that includes, assisting with the unloading of vehicles, receiving in and processing of supplier deliveries, buying of stock and the weekly picking of replenishment orders to be delivered to stores.
As a warehouse operative, you will be working both alone and as part of a team with efficiency and commitment to complete your work and strive to maintain the business performance targets.
This role best suits upbeat and self-motivated individuals who enjoy working systematically and productively. The fast-paced and energized environment relies on organization and efficiency and with so much ground to cover in the line of duty it is important to ensure that you have a moderate level of fitness to enable you to comfortably carry out your tasks.
What you’ll be doing
- Ensure that deliveries are processed as quickly as possible in an efficient manner.
- Ensuring that all deliveries are received accurately and finalised within Vector.
- Picking store replenishment orders
- Maintain strong communication with the Store team to ensure fast and efficient replenishment of stock each week
- Helping keep warehouse stock records by assisting with regular stocktakes
- Vehicle loading and unloading (hand ball)
- Take responsibility for buying product for suppliers allocated to you.
- Ensure that close and strong professional relationships are maintained with suppliers
- Ensuring service standards are maintained and work processes are followed
- High attention to detail.
- Working in accordance with Company Health and Safety policies and procedures
- Actively participate in continuous improvement activities
- Assist with keeping the warehouse clean and tidy
- Any other reasonable tasks as required
