We are seeking to appoint a new Warehouse Operator within the Assembly and Warehouse Team; this is a weekly paid role and will be on a 2-shift rotation basis.

To ensure components to be despatched to receivers are packed and shipped securely and reach their destination on time and without damage. To collate orders by customer according to order book and to ensure order lines destined for the same customer on the same date are despatched in an appropriate and cost-effective manner.

The job holder is responsible for products after assembly from packing to arriving at customers destination. This includes arranging and monitoring despatch of finished products, ordering materials for packaging and safe handling of finished goods. General housekeeping of the work areas, keeping workstations tidy. The jobholder is responsible for meeting individual work targets. Performs related duties as assigned including, comply with all safety rules, regulations, and quality standards

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To pack parts securely ensuring that they have appropriate despatch paperwork
  • Ensure standard of packing is appropriate to reach destination and meet customer requirements
  • To organise all shipments including using computer terminals, consolidating shipments where possible in accordance with the order book
  • Produce commercial invoices where required
  • Load/Unload transport
  • Correct labelling of external packaging of parts
  • Monitor and control the ordering of materials required for packaging
  • Recycle materials where possible
  • Organise required transport as per customer requirements ensuring transport arrives on the appropriate dates
  • Add Packing and Delivery charges to invoices and run
  • Order packaging material as and when required, order can be number obtained from purchasing department
  • Help stores with issuing parts when required

Education and Experience Requirements

Good Numeracy and literacy skills

Good IT skills

Ability to prioritise

High level of accuracy and attention to detail required

Good communication skills

Able to work on own initiative and within a team

Exporting despatch experience preferred

Previous warehouse experience with a high number of parts preferred

Counterbalance Forklift Licence is preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £9.50-£10.56 per hour
